Each year millions of lost school days are due to infections acquired in the school environment. The classroom setting is an ideal environment for the spread of pathogenic microorganisms such as virus and bacteria. Microorganisms may be transmitted through airborne, droplet or contact transmission (e.g., sneezing, coughing, and contact with skin). Two key measures for prevention of infection transmission in the school setting is hand hygiene and surface disinfection. The Sani-System® hard surface disinfectant wipes, Sani Hands® and Sani Hands® for Kids antimicrobial hand wipes are effective against pathogenic microorganisms and they are convenient to use. The antimicrobial hand wipe products are meant to keep hand clean and reduce the spread of germs when soap and water are not available. The Sani-Hands for Kids® educational program teaches children the importance of hand hygiene. Featuring the fun characters of Cora and Cory, the program consists of a DVD, hand hygiene posters and an educational activity workbook.
