Greenwich Resident Helps Create ‘Nice ‘n CLEAN’ Antibacterial Hand Wipes

GREENWICH, Conn. — A Greenwich resident whose granddaughter has peanut allergies helped to create
a product to remove peanut allergens from surfaces.

Through his work at Nice-Pak , the maker of Nice ‘n CLEAN, Robert Julius has helped create Nice ‘n CLEAN Antibacterial Hand Wipes. The product removes 99 percent of peanut allergen residues from the surfaces, according to an announcement.

Corporations wean off the grid with solar, fuel cells

Across the Hudson Valley, businesses are generating their own electricity to wean themselves from the grid and help the environment.

Morgan Stanley celebrated the installation of new fuel cell system Friday that will produce enough electricity year-round to power about 150 homes, or 250 kilowatts. The fuel cells come a year after the financial services company installed a six-acre, 3,091-panel solar array on its campus at 2000 Westchester Ave. in Purchase.

Nice-Pak Unveils County’s Biggest Solar Power Array

Roof-top system among top 10 in New York State 

ORANGEBURG — The largest rooftop solar array in Rockland County was unveiled Monday during ceremonies at the home of Nice-Pak Products and its sister company, Professional Disposables International, the world’s leading producers of pre-moistened wipes.

The 855-kilowatt array is among the 10 largest rooftop solar power systems in New York State, according to Orange and Rockland Utilities. The system is expected to generate approximately one million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year and supply about 15 percent of the building’s total electricity load.

The wipes were originally the brainchild of Arthur Julius, who got the idea for a disposable wet napkin that could be tossed when the job was done.
